Privacy policy

Last updated 10 September 2026. QueryClimb is operated by Mark Dunne, trading from the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through queryclimb.com and the QueryClimb application at app.queryclimb.com, why, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect and why

Early access form. Name, email address, store URL, current blog cadence and the tool you use today. We use this to contact you about early access, to run the free audit you asked for, and to understand who is interested in the product. Legal basis: your consent when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in developing the product.
Email you send us. If you email hello@queryclimb.com we keep the correspondence to reply and for our records.
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes visitor IP addresses and request data to serve and secure the site. We do not use this to identify individuals.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The site stores one preference (light or dark theme) in your browser's local storage; it never leaves your device. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google and Google receives your IP address for that request.

Who processes your data

Tally (tally.so) hosts the early access form and stores submissions.
Cloudflare hosts the site and routes email to hello@queryclimb.com.
Google (Workspace or Gmail) stores email correspondence.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK-approved adequacy decisions.

How long we keep it

Early access submissions are kept until the product launches and we have finished contacting the list, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to answer follow-up questions, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@queryclimb.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

The QueryClimb application

Creating an account and using the application at app.queryclimb.com involves the following data.

Account data. Your name and email address, handled by our sign-in provider WorkOS and stored by us to run your workspace. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Google Search Console data. If you connect Search Console, we fetch your site's search performance data (queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions) using the access you grant through Google. We use it only to show you your own search insights and to plan and prioritise content inside your workspace. QueryClimb's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires. You can disconnect at any time in the app or from your Google account permissions, which cuts off our access.
Store data. If you connect your Shopify store, we read your articles, pages, products and collections to analyse internal linking and publish the content you approve, using the access token Shopify issues. We write to your store only when you accept a suggestion or publish a draft.
AI processing. Article drafts and linking suggestions are generated by sending relevant content from your workspace to our model provider, Anthropic. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, that data is not used to train their models.
Hosting. The application and its database run on Render. Application data may be stored in the United States; transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK-approved adequacy decisions.
Cookies. The application sets one essential session cookie to keep you signed in and a short-lived cookie during sign-in and store connection. No advertising or analytics cookies.

Application data is kept while your account is active. To delete your account and its data, email hello@queryclimb.com and we will delete it within one month. Content already published to your own store is yours and stays there.
